We specialize in commercial. Our product is designed specifically for commercially-built structures versus residential property.

What is the difference between an awning and a cabana?
An awning is affixed directly to a building, whereas, a cabana, is a temporary or permanent free standing shade structure with stationary or traversing curtains or decorative draperies. All product frames are made of aluminum or steel and powder coated in your choice of paint finish.

What kinds of businesses generally use your products?

Can I just order an awning, cabana, or canopy from the shelf at your company?
No, most of our products are custom made to fit your specific design intent.

Why are all of your products custom made?
Every job has a unique measurement; every person has a unique style. Academy caters to the individual business and the personal needs of the company by creating exactly what the customer envisions.

How do you produce quality products?

We begin by working with you on the design, which involves renderings and drawings.After that we schedule a field measure. You will then approve the overall intent by signing off on the drawing. At this point we start purchasing raw materials and move to production. This includes welding the frames and powder coating the frames to the exact paint finish that you selected. The next step is to sew the fabric and fit it to the frame structure. A thorough inspection of the product is made to verify size specifications, overall fit and design. After all the check points have been accomplished the product is ready for installation scheduling or shipping.

What if something goes wrong? Who do I call?
The nice aspect about our business is that we do the work ourselves. We do not outsource the manufacturing of our products. Every client is assigned his/her own sales representative to work with. So if something goes wrong you have direct telephone numbers to our office and to your personal sales representative.

Do I come to your location or do you come to my place of business?
If your business is nearby a sales consultant can survey the property, but in most cases we exchange information electronically i.e. drawings, engineering specifications, floor plans, and the like.

How many colors do I have to choose from?
We work with many high quality fabric manufacturers, who offer a wide variety of fabric types and colors. Please return to the home page and select the color selection link, it will take you directly to the latest fabrics available for our product lines.

What if I do not have a specific design, color, or fabric in mind. How would I know exactly what my company needs?
You can draw on experience to help you achieve an impacting design.

Do I need to know the dimensions or measure the area myself?
During the quoting process, some basic measurements are necessary to formalize a proposal. If your business is nearby our sales representative can survey the site or can guide you on the measure points.
Once you agree to buy from us, we schedule a project manager to the site to take the final measurements for manufacturing.

From start to finish, how long does it usually take to get the job done?
We try to accommodate everyone’s schedule. If you give us date, we will do our best to deliver and install your merchandise in a reasonable time frame. Each job is determined by the complexity of the work that needs to be done to do ensure a quality job.
